Synopsis
In Halla Bol Ashfaque (Ajay Devgan) comes to the big city from a small town with an ambition to become an actor in the Hindi film industry. He staggers on a local street theatre group owned and run by a reformed dacoit known as Sidhu (Pankaj Kapur) who tries reform and awaken the masses with this medium and integrates it. However, Ashfaque struggles to bring out the creative actor in him. His sets a goal of becoming a famous film actor and is almost determined that he will get a break in movies.
his dreams soon becomes true ans he gets a part to play with a new screen name – Sameer Khan. In no time, he gets better roles and starts to climb the showbiz ladder very quickly. He gets famous in no times with his acting skills and gets admiration from all sections of audience.
Thanks to all the flattery and commendation, he eventually loses his own identity and starts to assimilate all the characters he played on screen. His eyes open to the corruption that takes over his entire system but by then he already feels seperated from his loved ones, especially Sneha (Vidya Balan) his wife. A horrific event at a party shatters him and he is caught between himself on one side and his corrupt superstar image on the other.
