Synopsis

In the movie 'Mere Baap Pehle Aap' Janaradhan Wishvanbhar Rane played by Paresh Rawal is a widower and has spent his whole life bringing up his two sons Chirag played by Manoj Joshi and Gaurav played by Akshaye Khanna. Janaradhan did everything in bringing up his two sons in the best possible way, ever since they were toddlers. Now when both of them have grown up, Gaurav takes over the responsibility of his father to give him some relief. They both manage the household along their business to the best of their abilities. Though Gaurav is the younger son, he treats his father as his son. Gaurav keeps a close watch on him just like a disciplined parent. He even shouts, threatens, fights and even goes up to the extent of locking up his father occasionally so that he is away from his prankster best friend Madhav Mathur palyed by Om Puri who is a divorcee, but is desperate to get married. Gaurav fears that his father's friend might spoil him.

Madhav and Janaradhan are always in search of a bride for Madhav and they always fall in trouble. Gaurav has to bail them out and face the embarrassment everytime.

Gaurav who is busy managing his business gets prank calls from a girl. But this girl turns out to be his old college friend Sheekha Kapoor played by Genelia D'souza. Sheekha leaves with her guardian Anuradha played by Shobana who is Janardhan's first love.

Gaurav and Sheekha notices change in the behavior of Janaradhan and Anuradha when they come together after many years. Both of them come to know about their past relationship. Now Gaurav persuades his father to get married to his lost love.
Gaurav and Sheekha starts a mission for Janaradhan's love marriage and in the process they both fall in love. Of course, the going is not so smooth. There are obstacles, but then, Madhav's desperate want for a bride comes handy. How they all get Janaradhan married is a funny and hilarious process.
